Breastfeeding Can Help Protect Children In The Future From Cancer

About 60% of births in Armenia are currently breastfeeding, said Head of the Department of Maternal and Child Health Ministry of Health Karine Saribekian.

“According to 1994 in Armenia, about 20%, ie 20 out of 100 children, were breastfed for up to four months. Over the next three or four years, the number of such children has tripled and even quadrupled. After this index again fell slightly. Currently, about 60% of births in Armenia are breastfed, “- said Saribekian on Thursday at the parliamentary hearings on the issue of breast-feeding children in Armenia.

According to the head of department, breast-feeding not only helps to strengthen the health of both mother and child, but also creates a strong emotional bond between them.

As noted Saribekian, interesting practice doctors apply to women who want to abandon their children in the hospital. “They just give us feed the baby. After that, the vast majority of women take their children “- she said.

As informed Saribekyan, with mother’s milk the child absorbs and information stored at the level of genes. That is why, as stressed by the representative of the Ministry of Health of Armenia, should be encouraged breastfeeding at least six months.

Chairman of the Standing Committee on Health, Maternity and Childhood Ara Babloyan said that breastfeeding can help protect children in the future from such diseases as diabetes, cancer, and the mothers will prevent breast cancer  and ovarian cancer.

“Breastfeeding could save lives of millions of children around the world” – said Babloyan.

Soy against 2 cancer, prostate and breast cancer

In addition to flavor our food, soy may also help in the battle against two types of cancer: the breast and the prostate. To detect the two studies were reported by British newspaper the Daily Mail. The first ‘was conducted by a team of researchers at the University of Chicago Northwestern. The results ‘showed that one pill a day of’ genistein ‘, the main isoflavone found in soy, and’ able to slow or stop the spread of prostate cancer.

Although the study involved a small sample of 38 men, scientists believe that these results could lead to the first non-toxic treatment that prevents the movement of cancer cells.

“The first step – said Raymond Bergan, who led the study – and ‘was to see if the drug has the desired effect on the cells and the prostate, and the answer’ it was ‘. If this drug can’ effectively prevent prostate cancer can spread throughout the body, such therapy could theoretically have the same effect on the cells of other types of cancer. “

The second study ‘pro-soy’ and ‘was conducted by the University’ of Buffalo (New York) and involved nearly 1,300 women. The results’ showed that soy isoflavones may reduce the risk of developing breast cancer. Researchers have found that women who consumed more ‘isoflavones have a 30 percent chance’ to be less affected by invasive breast cancer and 60 per cent chance ‘in less than developing cancer’ low degree ‘.

To arrive at these conclusions, the scientists compared the data of 683 women with breast cancer with 611 healthy women. “We have definitely seen – said Anne Weaver, who led the study – a reduction (risk) that deserves further investigation.”

Zafgen diet pills originally developed to treat solid tumors in cancer cases

The active ingredient used in the diet pill of Zafgen (ZGN, 433) was originally developed by a South Korean pharmaceutical (CKD Pharmaceuticals) to treat solid tumors in cancer cases. It works by increasing the breakdown of fat. Zafgen CKD Pharmaceuticals has bought the exclusive rights to use ZGN-433 in the world (except South Korea).

Various scientific studies have suggested that the more overweight you become, the more your body will struggle to change its composition because the body becomes “programmed” to produce and store more fat. This makes the body less sensitive to the insulin hormone (a hormone that helps us to fight against excess weight because it encourages the body to burn fat).

The researchers say that the Zafgen ZGN-433 diet pill blocks an enzyme called MetAP2. This enzyme is harmful because it prevents many genes that are important to function properly. This enzyme MetAP2 indirectly promotes insulin resistance, excessive fat, inflammation, various health problems related to obesity. In fact, scientists believe their Zafgen drug works because it resets the way the body metabolizes fat.

Decrease Your Risk Of Cancer With Green Tea

green-tea-cancer

The majority people are frightened rigid of cancer disease. That is fairly reasonable – nobody wants to waste a couple of years having chemotherapy just to pass away a few years later? Or yet if you get well it is a couple of years out of your existence that have been upsetting and punishing. And not just for the patient but for associates and family too.

So, most people do the whole lot they capable of to decrease the risks of developing cancer. Many of us don’t think we recognize how to do this, while other people are not certain, but they have listened to or read a bit that sounds ‘about right’ and other people are assured that they know how to avoid having cancer.

My relatives are persuaded that I might obtain cancer from consumption of burnt toast and others are convinced that they can ward off cancer by saturating their flesh with green tea. It has frequently been said out and for decades too, that countries where green tea is the norm, say the Far East, have a large amount of lower occurrence of cancer than we do in the West.

Sen. Ron Wyden of Oregon has prostate cancer and will miss late-session votes

Prostate cancer news collection.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden of Oregon has prostate cancer and will miss late-session votes that could include approval of an arms treaty with Russia and repeal of the “don’t ask, don’t tell” law on gays in the military, he said Thursday.

The 61-year-old Democrat said the cancer is in its early stage, diagnosed after his annual physical examination in late November. He said he scheduled surgery for Monday at Johns Hopkins Hospital, expecting the Senate to be in recess by then.

“However, it now appears that I will be missing votes tomorrow and possibly next week,” he said in a statement.

Wyden has surgery preparation scheduled Friday but would be available for votes on the weekend, said a spokeswoman, Jennifer Hoelzer.

On the congressional agenda are a government appropriations bill, a new arms treaty with Russia and legislation to allow openly gay servicemembers to remain in the military, but aides said the schedule is so fluid it’s not certain what votes Wyden would miss.

Regan Lachapelle, a spokeswoman for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, said time is too short for the Senate to adjust its schedule to make sure Wyden is on the floor for critical votes, and it’s not clear that his votes would be make-or-break for measures such as the repeal of the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy or the arms treaty.
